Downloading and Installing Fonts

(A) Downloading

(1) First, download the fonts by clicking Click Here to download Tamil fonts to view this website. You will be prompted to choose where you wish to save the font file. Follow the directions below.

(2)Make sure you have selected your C drive

(3) Click on the Create New Folder button

(4) Call your new folder "tamilfont" and press enter

(5) Double click your new folder to open it

(6) Click on "save".  This will save the font to the new tamilfont folder

(B)  Installing True type fonts:

(a) This method applies to flowing operating system on your computer:

            •Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition (32-bit x86)

            •Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Datacenter Edition (32-bit x86)

            •Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition (32-bit x86)

            •Microsoft Windows Server 2003, 64-Bit Datacenter Edition

            •Microsoft Windows XP Professional

            •Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

            •Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition

            •Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002

            •Microsoft Windows XP Professional for Itanium-based systems

            •Microsoft Windows XP Professional for Itanium-based systems

            •Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server

(1) Click Start, then click Run.

(2) Type “%windir%\fonts” in the text field of the Run window as shown below and press OK

(3) A window will appear with several other fonts in it as shown below

(4) Click “File” on the top left of the window, then click “Install New Font…”

(5) A new window will appear. In this window, in the “Drives:” drop down menu, select “C:”

(6) In the “Folders:” text box, find the folder you created named “tamilfont” and double click the folder.

(7) Now, in the “List of fonts:” text box, you should see “Bamini Plain (True Type)”. Click once on this font name and then click OK.

(8) You should see two progress bars appear that will show you the progress of the installation of your font.

(9) After both bars are at 100%, the installing of your font is complete. You should be able to view this font on any website or document after the installation.
